Rothko Chapel

Poetic Reflections is a performance of violin/voice (Dr. Ingrid Gerling) and piano (Dr. Andrea Mut). Each piece in the program is based on meditation, sacred text, or religiously inspired poetry written by composers of different religious backgrounds and nationalities.

One of Houston's most notable composers, Paul English, will debut a piece composed for Gerling-Mut Duo, centering around the mission of the Rothko Chapel. "Unconditional Surrender", (2019) for violin and piano, is a Paul English revision of his own 1990 composition by the name name.

Well-known to jazz fans around the world as a founding member of New York Voices, Kim is one of the most accomplished vocalists on the scene today.
